About the Director:
Katherine Frank earned a B.A. from Bates College in Lewiston, Maine, and her M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Washington in Seattle. Katherine is co-director of writing and an assistant professor of English at Colorado State University-Pueblo. This will be her sixth year directing the Southern Colorado Writing Project, and she is thrilled about the institute's new affiliation with the National Writing Project. "It is an honor and wonderful opportunity to be affiliated with an organization that is committed to teachers and their efforts within the classroom."
About the Co-Directors:
Lynette Lievers has been teaching English classes at Centennial High School in Pueblo, Colorado since 2000. Prior to 2000, she taught at Connect Charter School, Futures Academy, and Aims Community College in Ft. Lupton, Colorado. She received a bachelor's degree in English with minors in writing and philosophy in 1996 from the University of Northern Colorado. Regarding her involvement with SCWP, Lynette states, "This is the most worthwhile professional development organization available to inspire and infuse innovative teaching strategies for writers of all ages."
Shawn Vidmar has been teaching English composition courses at Colorado State University-Pueblo since 2003 and began teaching the equivalent course at Pueblo Community College in 2006. In1992, she earned her B.A in English from the University of Denver and a Graduate Diploma in English Literature from Curtin University in Perth, Western Australia in 1994. As a 2006 Summer Institute participant, Shawn is thrilled to become an integral member of the SCWP team.
About the Technology Liaison:
Bryan Salagovic has been teaching Language Arts since 2003, starting his career at Jefferson Middle School in Rocky Ford before transferring to Pueblo District 60 in Pueblo. He is currently teaching at Eagleview Middle School in Academy District 20. He graduated from Colorado State University - Pueblo in 2003 with a B.A. in English and a minor in professional writing, where a great deal of focus was placed on the emerging role of technology in the world of communication. As Technology Liaison, Bryan is excited to help instructors bridge the gaps among technology, communication, and their curriculum.
